Hi: ....Why are the astronauts treated so special? Tossing or letting plastic bags and who knows what else off the shuttles like that....Here on Earth, people get fined all the time for dumping their trash on the roads and highways we all use. It's not fair! What's good for the taxpayers should be just as good for those who dip into the treasury....<br /> Space trash. Unless it's cleaned up relatively soon, it will become a hazard in the forthcoming Jetson's era of leo tourist hotels, motels to Mars and all the other possibilities now on the drawing boards and in the imaginations of the visionaries among us....<br /> I wonder what the counterpoints will be from the sixpack space slobs, and how many black holes will be in their arguments that battlestars could be launched through, etc...<br /> Clean it up, already! <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" />! Trash thrown into space at shuttle ISS altitudes falls back after several years into the atmosphere where it is incinerated due to atmospheric friction.<br /><br />Most of the trash is brought back to earth.
