(Opening Scene -- Bridge of USS Enterprise enveloped in near-darkness. Debris everywhere and crew unconscious on floor lit by emergency backup lighting. As usual, Kirk regains consciousness first and stumbles over to Spock lying near the science station. Kirk rouses Spock. )

Kirk: What happened, Spock?

Spock: We seem to have had another close call with a black star.

Kirk: Don't tell me we've been time warped back to 20th Century Earth like the last time this happened?

Spock: Insufficient data, Captain.

McCoy on intercom: McCoy to Captain

(Kirk jumps back into his command chair as the rest of the groggy bridge crew wakes up and puts their chairs back up. Kirk slams a fist down on the intercom button.)

Kirk: Kirk here!

McCoy: What's going on up there?!?! I've got injury reports coming in from all over the ship!

Kirk: I'm a bit busy right now -- I'll get back to you. (Kirk slams button twice) Kirk to Engineering!

Scott on intercom: Scott here!

Kirk: How long till our systems are back online? (As if on cue, lights come back up on the bridge and the usual whirring and chirping sounds from the consoles are heard once more)

Scott: Primary systems back up sir. Warp drive out for another 4 hours. Impulse at 25% power.

Kirk: Good work, Mr. Scott. Kirk out. (Kirk turns to Spock) Spock, any idea where we are? Did we go into another time warp?

(Spock looks up from his Science Computer visor-thingy)

Spock: The star pattern is totally unfamilar. Even the galaxies are out of place. It appears we have been displaced in space as well as time.

Kirk (impatiently): What does that mean, Spock?

Spock: It means that the we have been moved a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

(Sulu turns to look at Spock -- a concerned look on his face.
