Tell me, do you walk into an ICU waiting room and point at someone and say "I predict your loved one won't make it". Imagine defending such a remark with BS like:

"I didn't say I hope or desire that your infant die, it was merely a prediction. Why in the world would that remark bother you?"

Hah!

Well, it looks like I've been defeated. Well done.

Yeah, in jean overalls - about 20 people in the band. Was number 1 over here in about 1980.

I remember it from some time in early graduate school, but I can not pin it closer than that.

That is unusual, I used to annoy my ex-girl with remembering when songs came out. Maybe I am just getting old-timers.

Wayne

"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything." Admiral Jackie Fisher

My signature line for example is from a somewhat obscure Elton John single that came out in the fall of 1981.

I listened to music quite a bit while grading papers, doing homework etc.

Wayne

"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything." Admiral Jackie Fisher

OPS-3 is the entry and landing software for the Space Shuttle's general purpose computers.
What gets unloaded from the general purpose computer in order to make the transition to the OPS-3 software?

My first year of Uni, I lived in a 'Hall of Residence'. It was a multi-storied co-ed building, however by some misfortune I ended up on a all-male floor. Each floor had a 'theme song' (as you do), and ours was the aforementioned Come On Eileen.

I've been trying to remember the lead singer's name, which has escaped me for the last 10 minutes, but I can tell you he put out a solo album later on attired in a dress on the cover! I believe there were 'issues' there with him far more disturbing than Dr. Lucid using a highly suggestive song for the wake-up call!

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

The computers are transitioned by swapping out the OPS-2 software (on-orbit operations) for OPS-3 (entry and landing).

Hey I remember the part about the OPS computers during the pre-launch checklist!
flying the shuttle=going thorugh one big checklist. bit boring, actually, except for the view. Which wasn't very spectacular in the old Amiga sim, so I never made it through an entire launch.
I'm sure Shuttle_Guy would ace that sim...

http://asteroid-invasion.blogspot.com

http://www.solvengineer.com/asteroid-invasion.html

You are being called a troll Lycan - cause you are.

Do everyone a favour and please stay off this forum - no one is interested in your grim 'predictions'. Cnt.

On that note - it's late and I'm headed to bed. In 7 Hours I look forward to hearing that Eileen & co are safely on the ground.

Night all & godspeed the crew of Discovery.

SG, if something were to go wrong (not necessarily fatal to the crew or terminal to the orbiter) during reentry, have standard and emergency procedures changed since Columbia?
