NTV just reported ECO#3 is working correctly. Good stuff!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Wanna see this site looking like the old SDC uplink?

Go here to see how: SDC Eye saver

I heard after draining the tank, a few hours later it decided to change to read dry like it should. But its obviously dodgy so they have classed it as failed

In my mind, intermittant faults sound worse than having a dead sensor. More and more I'm liking the bad crimp hypothesis.

Thanks SG, how are you able to post so close to launch? Are you on a break from the Firing Room?

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

I didn't realize that the sensors armed themselves about 30 seconds before mco. That makes me feel better.

Cheers mate. Good luck from all us here in M&L, and hope you have a nominal remaining count and launch today.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

Just had word that there will be no launch attempt tomorrow, so this is it. They either launch today, or we wait until the next window.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

A couple of the close-out crew are helping Jett get strapped into the CDR seat. I guess we won't be seeing that on Orion. It'll be "buckle yourselves in" at the hatch from the White Room folks.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

The close out crew are being asked to fix the blurry mid-deck camera. That's something else I'm surprised we don't have on Shuttle launches by now ... live cabin camera coverage right through ascent. I would personally enjoy seeing the crew right up to T-0 and launch.

Though, that camera angle they always show of the SSME's igniting at T-6 is one of the coolest shots in TV history.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

I'll love to see, maybe from a handheld camera, a veiw into the hatch, and then into the cabin.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Wanna see this site looking like the old SDC uplink?

Go here to see how: SDC Eye saver

Why the OMS engines fires when the SSMEs are running during ascent? Is that because heavy payload?

Yes, and as a by-product of the ascent profile they are flying today.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

It is a well known fact that NASA hasn't learned very many lessons. And no one can suggest anything that might be useful to them either, because they are like the Xtian woman I know, who puts her hands over her ears yelling "I don't want to hear it". Heads as hard as rocks! So listen up NASA and take heed. I couldn't be more serious about this either!

Anyhow, I would rather see NASA compete with that boatyard than take chances on losing another 7.

The shuttle could have been a magnificant spaceship if it was in the hands of responsible people.

I've become so disgusted with NASA that I put my space collection in storage except that shuttle model with the ET and the SRB's. Oh, BTW, the name of Atlantis is on that model. I see a personality to each space shuttle, being an artist and meticulously detailed my models after the real ones. My pride and joys are my Atlantis model and the Challenger model.

However, if I had a box big enough, I would have packed it too. But, now it is laying on it's side on top of the old 'puter until I can find another place for it.

.....Shuttle me up before I get tooooooooo old and feeble.....

---Happiness is winning a huge lottery---

With less than an hour and a half till launch, it's very quiet in this thread. The thumderstorm over SRB retrieval area prevents the retrieval operation to start. How long can the SRBs float on the ocean surface? Could they sink before being retrieved?

OTC = Orbiter Test Conductor.

The Orbiter Test Conductor is in charge of all pre-flight checkout and testing of the Orbiter, and manages the engineers in the firing room who monitor the Orbiter's systems.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!
