I hope the crew will do a walk-round of the vehicle. I'd love to see a camera get in there and take a look at that gap-filler by the wheel-well. Or rather, where it used to be.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

Did you notice how quiet it got after Kelly shut down the APU's? Those suckers are noisy!

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

Back to the hanger, clean the windshield, change the plugs and oil, then back out for December!

Welcome home Discovery and congratulations to the crew and everyone who put so much work into such a clean mission!

Let's hope they have the foam issues under control and we can move on to finishing the shuttle program on a high, ready for Moon, Mars and beyond!

It was a great job by NASA. I'm really looking forward to the more ambitious launch schedule and the ISS to be finally completed.

Hey Newsie, are you a pilot? You sure seem to know quite a lot and are very interested in aviation.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Wanna see this site looking like the old SDC uplink?

Go here to see how: SDC Eye saver

"Is shuttle danger proof?I mean foam and all that wii be taken care."

Well nothing's a 100% with such a complex machine and doing such dangerous work. That said, it seems the Engineers have certainly got a handle on this now, especially after tanking and then de-tanking and the delays on the pad.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Wanna see this site looking like the old SDC uplink?

Go here to see how: SDC Eye saver

Exactly. The shuttle is and should be treated as an experimental aircraft.....we were lulled into a false sense of security bc we didn't take this view.

I mean, come on...what other Aircraft flies at over ten times the speed of sound?

Many congratulations to NASA and Shuttle_Guy on a successful flight!

With the safe landing of Discovery and her crew, I am un-stickifying this thread.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"
