I've watched the program over the internet in its entirety. I haven't even had high school physics yet, but I found it very interesting. It fun to think that I could walk through a wall.

After both reading the book, and watching the PBS Nova special on the elegant universe by Brian Greene; I wanted to get the reaction from memebers of SDC, as to how you all felt about the conflicts between the unification of the [G/ EM/ S/ W forces]: Do you believe that there is any validity to String/ M Theories?
"A mind is a terrible thing to waste..."

Seems reasonable to me. But, I'm just a layman. However, whether I "believe" in it is irrelevent. It all depends what the evidence says.

marcel - Hi! How are you?

Alas, I did not see it.

I have read on String theories elsewhere however, as well as the attempt to theorize an original univication of the 4 main forces of physics, aka Grand Unification Theory, aka GUT.

Gravity is the most obvious objection- as well as the question of dark energy which may interact with gravity differently at different scales or in the different circumstance of escape velocity, i.e. the breaking of gravitational bonds.

I don't think things are as simple as some propose.

As for these various theories, the jury is still out so to speak and we need more evidence to come to a verdict beyond reasonable doubt.

Will there be a rebroadcast?

Can anyone post a few outstanding main points?
