What would it look like to fall from the edge of space?

This weeks video on the JP Aerospace web site shows a descent from 94,000 feet. It's about four minutes of clips from the fall. The vehicle has a parachute but you can't tell from the camcorder's view.
The sound is the best part. Turn up the volume for this one.

It was shot on the Away 17 mission.

JP

http://www.jpaerospace.com
Just in case you really are John Powell: How are things going with the ATO project? I find that concept fascinating, blimps in space.

Like Jimmy Buffett says, "I've proved who I am so many times the magnetic strips worn thin".

It's going really well. The team is growing and we're gearing up for a run to 100,000 feet in a few weeks to test some new equipment, (Away 26).

We've put a log on the JPA website to let folks know what's going on.

www.jpaerospace.com

JP

Ok, I believe you.

Do you have an estimate when the ATO might become operational? Five years? Ten?

I wish you and your team the best.

We are shooting for an orbital demostrator in seven years.

We've put another new video on the JPA website:

www.jpaerospace.com

This one is for the rocket junkies out there.
Description:
"In addition to launching rockets from balloons as part of a high altitude launch system, JPA uses rockets as a research tool for Airship to Orbit. Here is a small sample of launches we've conducted. Most of those in the video are ground launches from suspended gondolas or from gimbaled launch rails."

JP
