Got all excited about the unsolved mysteries of gas giants' interiors, stayed for the big reveal that never happened.

I'm sure this work has pertinent downstream benefits, but "how long does it take for a gas giant to form" isn't nearly as interesting as "what is the composition of its core". Perhaps understanding how long it takes to form could give hints at of the nature of its depths?
