I'm working on a project for Boy Scouts and I have search many websites for the last five days. I can't seem to find out when the following Planets are going to be visible during the next 12 months: Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, Venus and Mercury. Thanks for any help you can give me.
try using http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/objects/javascript/3305541.html

If you click on 'almanac' and then 'click here' in the pop up window, it will show you what planets are visible in the evening and morning. You can then either click "+ 1 week" to move through each week of the year, or if you look in the scroll down box you can make a note of the dates when jupiter/mars/saturn reach opposition (those are the best dates to see them) and when Mercury and Venus are at greatest illumination (those are the best dates to see them).

As per MeteorWayne's question - you should change the location in the almanac program to match your own (the default is Cambridge, MA where Sky and Telescope magazine is based).

For your purposes, I think what doubletruncation suggests is probably the best.

Pick the nearest large city, exact location is not critical, and it's easier that way.

But the Krell forgot one thing John.
