Message from NASA Headquarters - Communicating With the Public

Date: Mon, 29 Aug 2005
To: (Recipient list suppressed)
From: Centerwide Announcement
Subject: Message from NASA Headquarters - Communicating With the Public

Message from NASA Headquarters
Point of Contact: Teresa Grimes, Office of Public Affairs,
202-358-1280

Communicating With the Public

To ensure a responsive public communications program and enhance public perception of NASA, each Center has designated a Public Inquiries Officer for managing communications, including letters, e-mails, faxes and telephone inquiries, from the general public. In accordance with the President's Management Agenda E-Gov Initiatives, NASA is also participating in the Government-wide Misdirected E-mail Initiative. This initiative is specifically designed to further enhance the public's ease and access to government services, products and information.

Here is how the E-Gov Initiative works. Effective immediately, if you receive an e-mail from a member of the public, promptly forward it to the designated e-mail address for your Center, listed at http://insidenasa.nasa.gov/nasa_nas/ops/public_inquiry/ If you receive an e-mail that you believe does not fall under NASA's purview for response, simply forward the communication to mailto:notnasa@nasa.gov E-mails sent to this account will be reviewed and then redirected to the proper agency for appropriate disposition. Remember, never open any e-mail with an attachment from an unknown source.

In both cases, no follow up is necessary. You will not receive a reply that the e-mail has been successfully accepted, nor will you receive a copy of the response. Once you have forwarded the e-mail to your Center's public inquiries address or to mailto:notnasa@nasa.gov, you are finished.

Please direct any questions to your respecti

It means if you e-mail NASA, someone at the other end will thank you for your comments and inform you than someone will take on board said comments at a time appropiate to the relevant information.

Difference between getting a read reciept and a person typing you a thank you note, basically.

The link doesn't work.

That description does not fit what is there.
What did NASA find or bring back that would justify this "initiative"?

Are they looking for Emails of Humans?

(NASA is so obviously "the Aliens" they are always telling us they will NEVER find)

Well you posted in on here as if you had recieved it as an e-mail....am I wrong? If you lifted it from a website, then post a URL.

/>(NASA is so obviously "the Aliens" they are always telling us they will NEVER find)<

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

1) NASA has never said we we'll "never" find Aliens.

2) NASA aren't Aliens....although I know a few who have dress sense that suggests they may appears as such

Did I walk in on the SETI forum by mistake?

I'll try and find it but it seem very similar to something on NASA.gov that talks about members of the public being able to mail NASA with suggestions - a little like their RTF suggestion e-mail page a few years ago. Maybe someone's changed a couple of the words and mixed it around with a false URL.

Sounds a little like a Richard C. Hoagland and his "It's an Alien - no, it's a rock" site?

Sorry I can't help...I do Shuttles, not Conspiracy.

SpaceRef.com
based out of Reston, Virginia and with offices in Vancouver, Canada.

A strain of Ebola called Ebola Reston was named after the community, after monkeys imported from the Philippines that were in the community were found to have the virus.

Thanks guys. It's nice to be on Bhishma's side on this.

no wait

I smell bacon

cough pig cough

Suggestion? How about real time data interception?

No that would be HONEST. It's hard to keep up a Thermonuclear Extortion Shield up there without Ham radio interception of this monumental fraud upon the world.

Vie Gehts?

NASA operates above board.
Yeah RIGHT.
They have been CAUGHT destroying evidence and "editing" pictures.
They have been known to delay releasing data to accomodate various Dr. Dumbass's.
They are running a number of black projects - to stay ahead of the Russians, of course.

Suggestion? How about real time data interception?

Ah, yes. The idea floated at RCH's "Captain's Blog" for TEM supporters to somehow intercept and interpret MRO data as it is being sent to Earth. Just to make sure NASA isn't "modifying" it before release...

Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find and not to yeild. - Tennyson

They build a brand new DSN, use it to intercept whatever they want, find out 'oh bollocks...' that there is no such thing as a conspiracy, be really dissapointed, sell their beautiful DSN dead cheap to NASA or any other agency, et voila! We have doubled DSN capacity!
Even more fun would be that the "more extreme than TEM" would then have the opportunity to accuse TEM of withholding information themselves.
RCH would become "establishment"
I feel better than James Brown.

Its all there at Enterprise.
But that is not good enough for Space.com.
This board is all about "cheerleading" for NASA.
When will the issues of data integrity; excessive secrecy be dealt with HONESTLY?
NASA Poodles SOUND OFF !!!
