Replying to:

Frodo, I am disappointed in you...This is yoru "simple logic" ? If tax cuts worked we would not be in this situation ?? REALLY ??? So, by your simple logic, are we to assume that tax HIKES will do the trick ? How about MASSIVE DEFICIT spending ? Is that the way to go ?And before you answer that, have you not customarily decried the grwoing Federal Deficit and mounting National debt (while Bush was in charge)?
Posted by MannyPim

Manny, the idea of massive cuts in federal taxes to increase the federal income is just plain insane. Tell me if you decreased your income, would you then be able to pay your debts and bills better?

So, if we are ever going to see any decrease in the federal deficit then there are going to have to be tax increases!

I mean, DUH!

Manny, trickle down economics simply has not worked, especially for those with an individual income below $100,000, and family incomes below $200,000.

Between reduced pay, part time work, and outright lay-offs, the working class individuals of this country feel that they are under a full scale attack. And most of them blame the former administration for this. Which is why Barack Obama is now president. That does NOT make them either stupid nor ignorant, it just makes them interested in keeping their heads and the heads of their families above the economic drowning point! If you happen to be wealthy enough to avoid these problems, then good for you! But that is NOT the case for the greater majority of Americans at this time. I can tell you this as my son-in-law just joined the ranks of the unemployed, and if it was not for my help he and his family would be living on the streets of LA. So don't go giving me a lot of ideological bull at this time!

Now, I do not know if the stimulus package now going through congress is the total answer, but even Wall Street has readily admitted that the pure private sector is NOT capable of solving the current economic dilemma. So that leaves the government as the ONLY power capable of even standing a chance of doing anything about the problem.

And I am going to be far more honest with you than you are even with me or even posssibly yourself, when I say I am not totally certain that even the government has the answers. Why not just shut up for awhile and see what happens? After all we have no real power over events on these boards anyway!!

You seem to be perfectly willing to see this great nation go down the economic tubes, just as long as Obama takes the blame. I can easily tell that your greatest fear is that if his current administration in concert with congress can even have enough influence on matters economic to stop the current slide, and even start up the other side of the valley, then Obama is going to be the president until at 2016, and if your bank is still operating, you can take that prediction there!

Sorry, Manny but all your ranting and raving about him and the Democrats is NOT going to change that one tiny little bit!
