Silicon Valley and Washington State are achieving enough Moore's Law vacuum technology for manned space soon.
The defunders of this have been Libertarians, Peaceniks (1/2 the enviro movement doesn't learn engineering), and 10% most Christian. W used the latter. SpaceX used the 1st group until their 1998 pact was broken 2 days ago. As I was learning nanoengineering in 2007 Obama lost metal neurons and switched from bi-partisan space expansion agenda to being a contestant making my Windsor newspapers boring a decade later.
