Catastrophe

"Science begets knowledge, opinion ignorance.
A case for definition of terms: Before we can have true communications, you must first absolutely know what I am saying, I must absolutely know what you are saying. and we must be able to absolutely tell each other what the other one has said. Else that word map on which we rely will steer us in the wrong direction.

I just came across this, with which I thought you might resonate:

. . . . . . . . . teaches us to unlearn the rigid patterns of thought that we are indoctrinated with - and to escape the confines of memory, association and, most importantly, words.

what makes you think that in the 5- or - 7 decade span of your expected life time you have the right to question why extraterrestrial life is not verified against the known age of historical record, much less human civilization, human existence, etc. your life span is just a sliver of a sliver of a millennia - it may be discovered tomorrow, or long after the extinction of human civilization, or may have already been known and forgotten

Sure, intelligent being may well have been here in the past. But human observation is notoriously fraught with inaccuracy whether through fraud or from innocent misinterpretation. Enough to explain every account. There is not one that meets the scientific standard. Lots of fluff, no meat. What we want is a piece of one. If they have spent so much time here, where are the archaeological traces verified by science? There are none. There are plenty of pieces of evidence but all are unavailable for examination. First verified one will win someone a Nobel Prize.

More likely it will win them a visit from, and removal by, the FBI.

What data does anyone have that proves aliens have never visited us?
You don't.
They have/are.
There is a ton, literally, of data on aliens on Earth. Oh, wait - that's taboo!
You've got to be insane to believe in aliens! Ha!
They're real.
They're here.
And don't go shouting out for "prove this" or "prove that"; you accept data from everywhere - except when it comes to entities that are superior to us - we just can't take not being Numero Uno; hubris will blind you.
We are a mildly intelligent sentient species, we see .03% of the electromagnetic spectrum. We are totally ignorant about what 95% of reality is; yet some think UFOs are insane, stupid, impossible.
We're dealing from an extremely shortened deck.
