We all know that mass can be converted into energy & vice-versa.But now the question arises that what happens to the charge of the mass being converted into energy?Does we get different amount of energy or whatsoever is called when we convert +ve charge & -ve charge into energy?Does the charge is destroyed?<br /><br /><br />As always all the views & informations are welcomed

Yes you r right in saying that they anihilate each other.But what happens in the case of a nuclear reactor?Which mass is converted into energy?Does conservation of charge valid there?<br /><br />In ur case a +ve charge is meeting with a -ve charge & they anihilate each other.Here no violation of the charge conservation takes place.<br /><br />Which charge is converted to the energy in the reactor?

abhinavkumar_iitr05 - Yes, that is a very interesting question.<br /><br />Related to this: Does our universe have a net charge?<br /><br />I know the IGM (= intergalactic medium) is highly charged (ionized).<br /><br />A negative answer is OK if you are positive.<br />
