With respect to the term "feels", I did not see that when I first posted this morning. The force in question acts on all parts of the body equally, in which case there is no perception of force. This can change of course if there is a gravitational gradient across the body.

Wayne

"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything." Admiral Jackie Fisher

Far be it for the liberal arts guy to comment on science stuff but, if I'm not very much mistaken, the Moon is spiraling very very slowly away from the Earth. Something in the order of a centimetre every hundred years, or similar, if memory serves.

far be it for the condescending space-man to comment on science stuff, but the moon is falling around the earth regardless. you may want to go back and brush up on your newtonian gravity.

http://www-astronomy.mps.ohio-state.edu/~pogge/Ast161/Unit4/gravity.html
http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/moon_mechanics_0303018.html

Hmmm ... well, I imagine that would depend on whether you were using the operation of a simple dictionary as your comparison, bonze ......

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

this attempt to invalidate me is going into extra innings.

to what end?

i accepted your protracted apology, as that is essentially what it was; so let's move on like gentleman. i hold no ill will --we've fallen down far enough. so let's get back up
