I always thought David Boreanaz got better looking as he aged, too.  Anyway, one of the things I love about Joss Whedon's work (and JJ Abrams) is the character development.   -dh  <br /> Posted by doublehelix</DIV></p><p>I believe that up until sometime late last year TBS used to air episodes of Buffy in the morning.  I liked this because at the time I worked night shifts and could get my daily Sarah Michelle Gellar fix right after work.  Then, for some unknown reason, those a*holes at TBS dropped it.  Man, I was pissed.  Fortunately TNT took to airing Angel episodes at roughly the same time slot.  I still wasn't getting my <em>daily</em> Sarah Michelle Gellar fix, but it would do.</p><p>You're right that Angel does take a little bit getting used to, but after a while you're hooked. </p> <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p> </p><p><em>So, again we are defeated. <p><br />I always thought the best thing about the shows were how they evolved over time. The cast of both shows changed over time. Joss wasn't scared to kill off a charactor or mix things up a little and there in lies how both shows felt fresh after 5 or 7 seasons when other shows are definately feeling their age.</p><p> </p><p>What a shame Firefly never got past series 1!</p> <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <font color="#800080">"All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. </p><p>I saw a few episodes of Angel.  As I said, it wasn't terrible.  I wasn't really enthusiastic about it but it was entertaining at times.  I never liked Buffy that much although really loved the movie.  Both Angel and Buffy along with that other show about witches have a stigma I just can't get out of my head: They're all "OMG! 90210 with Vampires!" type shows.  I never was a fan of 90210 so can't really get behind that whole concept.</p><p>Some parts of the main storyline were interesting and I have to give them credit for that.  But, the yuppie WASP wannabe vampires/demons/humans kept turning me off.  The one thing that both series do is a pretty good job with some storylines and main themes. They get decent credit for that. </p><p>They need to pull the old Lestat out of the Vampire Chronicles and put his world on the small screen.  Those are "real" vampires.

  Dracula style, with some "umph" and grit to it even. I don't mean the whiny Louis "But I don't wanna be a vampire, waaah.." type characters. Kill them off immediately.  Heck, even Barnabus Collins would kick the crud out of most of the TV vamp characters today.
