Anyone watch Sarah Conner Chronicles?

IMO it looked 'smoother' than the leaked version, but that's what editors are for <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" /><br /><br />Noted change: her fiance was recast.<br /><br />The teacher/terminator attack in the class room was rumored cut in light of recent school shootings, but the producers stuck with it. Good for them. A watered down SCC would be a travesty. <br /><br />Tonights episode (9pm EST -FOX) looks to be a good one with a few twists. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> </div>

I saw it, I'm not sure about it yet.<br /><br />You would think that as advanced as skynet is supposed to be, it would have developed quieter motors and quicker witted terminators. (The terminator seemed rather slow in reacting to situations, ie: when he was at the Dyson home, he reacted with the equivalent of a 'huh?' when they drove the truck out of the garage into him.)<br /><br />I would have thought Sarah would have been quite a bit less trusting of the 'good' terminator. It seemed like she just showed up and she was their new best friend.<br /><br />I would also have dragged out Sarah's decision regarding destroying Skynet, whether or not to run and hide and accept it or try to do something about it now. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> </div>

I am just glad there is finally a show with some real action. Most everything on TV is so dull. I look forward to see how it develops and if it continues to deliver on the action.

I liked it...But I am a bit confused. In the movie Terminator 3, it was said that Sarah Connor died of cancer in 1997. Yet here she is alive and kicking in 1999 and she and John even time jump to 2007. <br /><br />Also, "history" was not changed in T3 to delay Judgement Day, (as it is in T2), JD occurs in T3 which takes place around 2004. There is also no change that might allow Sarah to live past 1997.<br /><br />So how does SCC square with the "history" of T3, or does it just ignore it? <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> </div>

It was mentioned that she died of cancer in 2004. A little later then the original, but it was probably so they could film in the present and not try and redo the late 90's. Most likley a cost issue.

No, IIRC John was killed in 2004 and she died of leukemia in 1997 as before. They were then "time-napped" to 2007 to keep them safe and avoid Terminators that are hiding in plain view. Armed with this knowledge Sarah is seeking early treatment for her leukemia. <br /><br />Cromartie looks to be returning. He was blasted into pieces in the pilot, but at the end of ep2 his body found his head which was serving duty as a desk trophy. Creepy sequence. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> </div>

hmm, I could have swore that she was told she died in 2004. I thought they traveled from 1999 to 2007. But my memory is shot so who knows.

It was obvious she was a terminator, and she fought off another terminator, so she must be another reprogrammed one.<br /><br />In the movies, I do not recall any discussion about whether time could be changed or not. I assumed the show would be horrible and was pleasantly surprised instead.<br /><br />The plot has neatly erased the horrible movie Terminator 3 from existence by having the characters time-skip from 1999 to 2007 and is working hard to fill the holes from the movie Terminator 2.<br /><br />I didn't care all that much for the movie Terminator 2 because of inconsistency with the first movie, and third movie was just awful. I didn't see how this new Terminator TV series could build from such a shaky foundation. I wasn't planning on even giving the show a chance and I only caught the pilot episode by accident. Lucky for me!

All of these positive comments aside (and I like the show too), I just can't shake this feeling that this show is going to get canceled before the end of the first season. It's a scifi show on Fox, do the math. To make matters worse, it's in the same time slot as Heroes. To me it seems like someone at Fox wants to kill it. The key difference is the writers strike. This show will have the chance that Firefly never did.<br /><br />And one other huge difference. Firefly opened with it's worst episode.
