Before the big crash of 04 there was a thread in this forum that had mostly dealt with one of the members journy through the universe of Babylon 5. Think he was about to start season 4 if I remember correctly. Sorry I can't remember your name, buf if you are still with us here at space.com would you care to let us know how you are finding the rest of the episodes.

This is a little off topic but I though anyone that likes B5 would enjoy this.

I've found a freeware game based on the B5 universe. Its called I've found her, the website is http://ifh.firstones.com/, its a rather large download at 220 MB but well worth it. It is a space combat sim, where you fly a starfury on several of missions, it also has very strong plot and seems (to my limited knowledge) well integrated into the B5 universe.

The game is a taster for a larger game in development, which will also be freeware . Its uses real physics rather than the rubbish you normally get it these kind of games. I really enjoyed playing it, it is very challenging but also rewarding when you get the hang of it, enjoy.
Hmmm interesting. I'll have to look into it a bit more when I get home, see if my comp can run the game.

Maybe he's just busy watching Babylon 5. It is rather addictive!

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

You do have a point there. I've wasted many an hour watching that show. Though I don't really consider them wasted. I don't have the money or else I would get the boxed sets.

Well I would have to say that more or less summed up why I liked B5.

Hey, what's wrong with that, Kalter? If he can't form an opinion based on watching a hundred episodes of Babylon 5, who on earth can? You're supposed to do that anyway; JMS is counting on it.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

Hi

Sorry i have not been here lately I have been working allot. Babylon 5 is amazing. I think it was so sad that marcus offered his life to save ivanova. I think she loved him two deepdown. It was a unfair that sherridan had to resign from earth force but it was great that he is not the earth force president. I have ordered the season 5 from the US as i live in Northern Ireland. I am not quite sure how the final season will go as i do not see many future storylines. I wonder how it will go. It is so sad that this is the final series. What am i going to watch now?

I just thought I'd jump in to say that tomorrow a new Babylon 5 DVD set comes out. It's kind of a bummer for those of us who bought "The Gathering/In the Beginning" on DVD, since it will duplicate those, but a 5-movie set (no idea how many disks it's on) will come out tomorrow containing:

The Gathering
In The Beginning
Thirdspace
River of Souls
Call to Arms

I'm eagerly awaiting it.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

We LOVE B5 here! All-Time Favorite Show Category!

Everything about that show was just awesome.

My least favorite character (and that's not to say I actually disliked any of them) had to be Delenn. I thought Mira Furlan was a bit - overdramatic sometimes.

What a series though! The concept was so fresh and so well thought out and so well presented. I fear there will never be another show to top that one.
The series was a great one... I caught it late and only got reruns after moving to Atlanta but was immediately hooked. The storylines and inner threads were well thought out and richly complex. My ex hated it but the dogs and I were gaga over it! We won in our lil experiment in democracy and took over the couch every week to watch when possible.

She's gone her way and had taken the dogs in the court settlement but I will always remember that was the show I tried never to miss while those big hairy balls of love would curl up on either side of me on the couch. It was a very happy time! I've been told they still like the show and seem to be enthralled by it when her new guy turns it on... and SHE is promising me the DVDs for my upcoming birthday!

Not much of a post for a first but I've been visiting for a while and just wanted to join in. I was with Mindspring back then and we became Earthlink later so I used to be really involved with numerous boards... I guess my hiatus got a little boring so the coincidence of getting that notice from my ex about my impending birthday present and reading this post caught me.

Now if someone could get me a date with Ivanava I'd be just as happy as could be...

*Big Grin*
Talking about long it the tooth !

I went to the Auckland Casino one night a few years back. A tour group were exiting their Coach, I was smiling to myself at hearing the Accents Mixed of "Home" , England, with "Toffs" speaking happily "The Lower Classes". I was musing on the change in our society when . . . .
Servalan from Blakes Seven, rolled her smokey, s e x y, commanding voice out, behind me. !

My Youth trained Gonads made no mistake about it !. Voice of a Militant Angel !, I spun around, and it WAS HER !. And though she had aged, still much woman, wow real presence, real s e x appeal.

I would have had dinner with her in an instant, aye, and breakfast if I was so lucky !. She had a husband though. and was busy, so I didn't bother her !.

hahaha I am not alone in the world. This from the lauding web site on the Actress. I NEED A TIME MACHINE, PRONTO !. [leer]

."In fact discussions about such fayre meant Jacqueline stole the I Love 1978
episode that recently screened with her admission that she's been a "&%$#@!ory fantasy for an entire generation of young men. And still am. Isn't that wonderful? I'm so proud of that. It's a lovely thing to think of yourself playing such a crucial part of a young man's development."But really, the whole thing has been extraordinary. I still get recognised
every week, two or three times, by much younger people - kids who have just discovered it. That's the thing with science fiction, there's always going to be a market for it, so you're constantly being rediscovered."It all made for a turnaround from the period preceding getting the role when she journied to La-la Land."I went out to establish myself in a film career and I ended up working in a strip club called The Losers, the irony of which escaped me for many years."
Ah, yes, Jacqueline Pearce. I confess I've seen little of Blake's 7, and that little was many years ago. I barely remember it.

But I do remember her on Doctor Who in "The Two Doctors". She plays the brilliant and sophisticated Chessene, whose civilized demeanor hid a brutal soul. The episode came out on DVD not long ago, and she did a large part of the commentary track. She really does have a lovely voice. I confess to having no attraction to her whatsoever (being a heterosexual woman) but I can certainly agree that she has a commanding presence. And she is indeed very beautiful. I love the way she carries herself too. She's excellent at playing those sinister characters.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"
