Is it worth attaching them to a camera tripod for viewing the night sky? I have a pair of 10x50s. <br /><br />What are the cons to using such a tripod?<br /><br />I still hope to get a telescope one day, but the time is not right just now. However, I would like to get a steadier view through my binocs. Will any old camera tripod do, or will I need to spend much on a sturdy stand?<br /><br />Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Of course it will provide a steadier view...so...yes, it is worth it. As long as you have the adapters (and your binos have the attachment threads) your tripod should work. I used my camera tripod until I could get a better one.<br /><br />Cons? Hmmm...can't think of any besides you've got a tripod attached to your binos and you wouldn't be able to move them around to different parts of the sky as fast. If that's a con, I don't know.<br /><br />Good luck!
