What if galaxies are affected by some fine structure of the space? So if an under space mechanism preffers this type of rotation, galaxies would be much more likely to act this way.

There is a correlation between the velocity of the outer stars of a galaxy to its central black hole size. I read in another thread, don't recall which, that one possible explanation of this suggests that galaxies go through a quasar phase that causes shock waves that produce the linkage. Gravity needn't be the only force at work in a galaxy.
