Earth's upper atmosphere could hold a missing piece of the universe, new study hints

I am glad to see people trying to detect "dark matter" in as many ways that humans can conceive it may be detectable. That is how we will eventually discover anything that is there for us to discover.

But, with so many diverse efforts to find something, I am a bit concerned that if there is ever a match found between a prediction and an experiment result, the "scientific community" could jump onto the assumption that they are really related, without requiring any more proof. The odds of that happening are increased as we increase the number of experiments that look for things where we have not looked before. The problem is what we call "confirmation bias", which means a bias towards accepting the explanation for something to be what we want it to be, rather than unrelated.
