hello again sirs and ma'mes: we was wonderin if energy cant be destroyd/ how comes thermodinamics sez nothin lasts forever. evrythin wears out/ so shouldnt energy wear out too & not freakin last forever like a zombie?

thankx

Energy changes forms but it never is lost or created. Like energy from the sun hits the earth and turns into thermal energy thus heating up earth. I am not sure what you mean when you say thermodynamics says nothing lasts forever.

Entropy says that things will go to a less disordered state meaning eventually everything will go to equilibrium at the lowest disordered state or something like that.

thansk mr jshcaef5/ yessir we was clear on conserveation of energy, but our texbook sez just that about themodynamics: "Nothing lasts forever. Everyghing wears out."

we want some explaination before we have our sceince club meetin./

shouldnt that statement apply to energy 2?

It's true, energy does "wear out", it;s just not lost. Think of it like this - you send a heat pulse down a wire to a friend in alaska. As this pulse moves along the wire it heats up and causes the wire to glow. This means that energy is lost to heat and light energy, so, if the source of heat was weak or the distance great, by the time the heat reached your Alaskan friend, the wire is cold and no heat is felt.
This, coincidentally, is why electricity, when transmitted over electric wires, is "jumped up" and then "stepped down". If it wasnt, it would "wear out" before it got to your home.
Energy can not be destroyed, however, this is a fundemental rule of physics. It, as said above, simply changes type.

thaknx lucas-90/ 4 the grafic explaination/ its easier 4 me 2 understand when people use examples like u did with my alaskan friend messin with a wire/ it sho makes it more real/

keepin it reel, y'all

As the universe expands, everything gets diluted. Eventually, dilution approaches infinity.

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!
