Thanks. Not yet realized we are in the wikipedian era of instant knowledge.
Google did not drive me to this page despite reasonably close keywords Nor Wikipedia own search engine...

Apparently the curve, once updated to take into account the figure of 62 for 2007, would seem indeed to accelerate.

I would think that by now, we can begin to estimate the number of planets that actually exist in our galaxy at least in the outskirts.

Lots and lots.

This is all great incentive to move forward and expediently in TPF projects, IMO.
"2012.. Okay, I left a message on the talk page of the user that made that image. If he feels like updating it then we'll see the total for 2007.

-----

http://mithridates.blogspot.com

Hi
The site looks beautiful indeed. But apparently no longer updated since september 2005 . A pity for the presentation was cute.

Also counting brown dwarves as planet is NOK imo. "Dwarf" stands for "dwarf star" as a maffer of fact!! (and there is nuclear fusion at play)

To Brad:
Indeed. Within a few years this kind of curve will have to be on a log scale on y as space missions aand ground telescopes should find them by the thousands. But I was wondering whether a kind of temporary asymptote had been reached with the current means. Apparently not. Another exponential at play (as usual).
