I just freak out at things with too many legs. It's purely a phobia.

Actually, motherhood toughened me up considerably. I can now let spiders be if they're not exactly where I need to be, and can kill them myself if neccesary. (Must not show weakness in front of the children. Otherwise, sooner or later, they'll systematically trap a whole box full of them and release them in my bed just to see what happens! EEEK!)

Centipedes, though, especially those ones with the really long legs, are an entirely different matter. *shudder*

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"
