I recently installed Linux on my PC and it came with an Application 'Kstars', an astronomy software. I guess it's a part of Linux's KDE desktop. But Kstars let you navigate through the night sky with the same look and feel of Google world map. It even has features to hook up my telescope to a PC's serial port to control the scope from a PC.

My question is, has anyone ever used this software? I need to know the accuracy of the software. Is it worth wasting my time in learning how to use the software, or is it just a toy ?

Because I'm one of those people who can identify only two objects in the sky without a sky map, the moon and the sun.
Earth is Boring
