I am looking for a science advisor that would be specifically knowledgeable in these areas:

--Future space travel

--Terraforming Mars

--ELE (Extinction Level Events)

If anyone can advise me where I could find one, I will be greatly appreciative. I am in the process of writing a movie and I don't want to do another Armageddon where it is pure science fiction, while I have no issue "suspending disbelief" for my story, I would love to work along side an advisor to fact check or theorize for me. Full credit will be given as "Science Advisor" and I will definitely work out acceptable compensation if the movie is actually sold/produced.

I can be contacted on this forum or directly at sonny@digitalblueglobal.com

Thank you.

Sonny Dyon

I'm not qualified ('just' a Paramedic).

I might suggest a few great books that I think suspend disbelief to a minimal level. All science fiction.

Assuming you haven't read them:

Lucifers Hammer -Specifically, the after effects of a comet impacting the Earth. A geat amount of understandable science tossed in. Quite descriptive for sci fi (At least in this non scientists opinion)

The Mars books Red Mars, Green Mars, and Blue Mars. Colorization and terraforming of Mars is the central theme

By no means do I support plagerism but I think these would be of some help. As far as future space travel goes, I think it's going to be a long time until there is an option to toughing it out for long stretches of time in a rocket powered tin can. NASA's website has tons of readily available information. On current space travel and it's challenges.

Good luck with your dcreen play!

Why not just hang around here and ask questions? It might take you a while to figure out whose advice you like! :)

Also, rather than taking a single individuals advice you probably want to dig up some of the several architechtures for mars exploration that several reputable teams have come up with.

You might want to read "The Case For Mars" and rent the "Mars Underground" DVD just for starters.

And there seem to be heaps of good links here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colonization_of_Mars

As mentioned allready, the Mars trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson is definately must read material with respect to terraforming ideas.

"The choice is the Universe, or nothing ... " - H.G Wells

Good series although I thought it ran on a bit at times.

Hi! My name's Fester. Ask me anything! I love science, and science loves me. Well, at least it does most of the time. Here's a photo of what happened when I flipped the switch to my Mark IV, Series 80, Hyper-Electric-Neutron-Gravitator. Doesn't look very scientific,

does it?
