I read a recent article in Scientific American about Naked Singularities (a black hole without the black hole).

It's a very interesting article: http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=nak ... ies&page=4

The biggest brain-twister for me is trying to understand how physicists describe the singularity as an event (Pg. 4 - last paragraph), rather than an object. They say that it is the edge of space in the fact that all matter pulled to the singularity ceases to be.

Can anyone elaborate on this statement?
