Anyone see the trailer that Lucasfilms released last night (3/10) for the movie?

I thought it looked incredible. So much darker than the other Star Wars movies, including Empire Strikes Back.

I have seen it, it is soooo cool . There's a few new things that I hadn't seen, mostly with duels and some battle sequences. A lot of things I knew about to just never saw 'pictures/ video' of it

Take awhile to get onto internet? nahhh! It was all over the place within minutes after it aired on tv and hyperspace.

I have a couple decent links for the tv trailer but not sure how grumpy mods would be about it not being from the 'officially' released place.
I thought it was freaky how Palpatine moved when getting out of his chair when Mace and a few other Jedi confronted him.

To me it had a very non-Star Wars feel about it. Much, much darker.

The cinematography looked incredible.

Hmmm, Tie-fighters look better than in Episode IV.

Its a shame Lucas couldn't hide the techno gap better.
"All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. Lucas is making a big deal about how it's rated PG-13.

What kind of joke is this?

The average sub-teen has already annihilated countless adversaries in video games. What does "The Legion of Decency" think is going to happen to a 13 year old mind when the young Darth Vader turns to The Dark Side?

Everyone knows that within 2 years the whole populace is going to turn out to buy The Star Wars SEXOLOGY in all the various "versions".

Don't get me wrong! I'm still going to see The Revenge of The Sith, but at least I'll be able to maintain a modicum of equanimity.
What kind of joke is this?

BBC:
Last Star Wars 'not for children'

The sixth and final Star Wars movie may not be suitable for young children, film-maker George Lucas has said. He told US TV show 60 Minutes that Revenge of the Sith would be the darkest and most violent of the series.

"I don't think I would take a five or six-year-old to this," he told the CBS programme, to be aired on Sunday.

Lucas predicted the film would get a US rating advising parents some scenes may be unsuitable for under-13s. It opens in the UK and US on 19 May. He said he expected the film would be classified PG-13 - roughly equivalent to a British 12A rating.

The five previous Star Wars films have all carried less restrictive PG - parental guidance - ratings in the US. In the UK, they have all been passed U - suitable for all - with the exception of Attack of The Clones, which got a PG rating in 2002. Revenge of the Sith - the third prequel to the original 1977 Star Wars film - chronicles the transformation of the heroic Anakin Skywalker into the evil Darth Vader as he travels to a Hell-like planet composed of erupting volcanoes and molten lava.

"We're going to watch him make a pact with the devil," Lucas said.

"The film is much more dark, more emotional. It's much more of a tragedy."/ul>Excellent!

***

Lucas could have achieved a PG+ rating in the beginning if he'd had the nerve to graphically show that torture robot working on Princess Leia in the first film.

The thing is that Lucas has ALWAYS opted out for cuddly teddy bears and "alien diversity". He's NEVER dared to examine the true horrors of a galactic empire run amok.

I'll be shocked if he doesn't pull his punches in this last feature. Somewhere he's going to leave open the smarmy possibility that Darth Vader can eventually be "rehabilitated".

What I suspect is that George Lucas will be unmasked as a PC christian who can't help but see "the good" in everything.

fornax,

Lucas is simply making a fairy tale, using space as its setting. He doesn't want to present a case study of a galactic empire running amok, he wants to tell a story.

What I suspect is that George Lucas will be unmasked as a PC christian who can't help but see "the good" in everything.

Well, It's a battle between good an evil and yes, it's nice to know the good can prevail. It's art, escapism, storytelling, etc, it's not an analysis of human nature. Lucas never claimed it was. It's Star Wars, not Tolstoy's War and Peace.

***

Impressive.

I especially like the way Obi Wan looks more and more like Ben Kenobi from the old movies, Ewan McGregor does an outstanding job.

One question: Has anyone an explanation as to why Palpatine's appearance changes so dramatically once he reveals himself to be a Sith-Lord?

I'd imagine it's something to do with immortality, that he is really much much older than he appears. And that he has to use his powers to appear "normal".

If you could what character would you be from the six star wars movies. Obi Wan is taken I am afraid as I want him just to be able to shout at Anakin during the lava fight in episode 3(info from trailer) "You are you choosen one"

Remembered last night that I hadn't seen it yet and checked it out on StarWars.com. Very cool, and dark. Don't know if I'll be able to be there on opening day, but I will be going to see it.

I don't think Leia ever said she remembered her mother personally, but had photos and stories. Guess I'll have to watch the movies again.

I know where I'll be may 19th to---- home

There is no way I am waiting in line for hours for a 'chance' at getting a ticket. The theatre's around here don't sell online or far in advance so neither is an option. For a blockbuster such as this all the dregs of society will be out to and that is not a good movie experience.

I'll be seeing the movie about 2 weeks later during the afternoon in the middle of the week. No rowdy kids or rude people to interfere with the movie then.

You are probably right. I don't want to camp out all night and be on the news for waiting so long.
I want to see it before all of the spoilers start circulating. Not that there could be many surprises.
I saw it again today (the trailer) and I love the part where Anakin is walking ahead of the clone troops as the camera looks down from far above. They walk from the shadows into a shaft of light. Very ominous looking imagery. Oh yeah!!
