Look at this. It is an article from the AP.

"The final Star Wars movie will be an emotional "Titanic in space", according to director George Lucas. Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith will hit movie theatres in America in May bringing to an end the most celebrated sci-fi film franchise in screen history. Episodes I and II, released 16 years after the last of the original trilogy Return Of The Jedi, were derided by critics and fans - who felt they lacked the quality of their predecessors. But Lucas is promising Episode III, which will bring the series to a close, will be a different affair. He says, "It's a real tearjerker, and it will be received in a way that none of us can expect. I feel that I've made the movie the best I can and it turned out the way I wanted it to be, so I'm happy." And he insists he isn't concerned about fans' response to Episode III: "I never try to anticipate what the world's going to think or even worry about whether they're going to like it or not. That's not my job, to make people like my movies. They either like them or they don't. That's completely out of my hands." Speaking at the ShoWest conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, Lucas refused to give away the film's plot - but screened the first six minutes of the film, and told audience members, "Obviously, fans would love to see a movie about Darth Vader running around killing people. I'm not telling that story, and I'm not interested in that. That's not what the movie is. This first trilogy is really about the father, the struggles of a father, or a man, basically, to find himself, and at the same time fall into a trap of wanting certain powers, making a pact with the devil and basically spending the rest of his life regretting it."

I have a question. If all through star wars episodes 1 + 2 Anakin is called the person who would bring balance to the force which comes from the proficy. However I thought that anakin was not it as he turned into dark vader and it was actually luke. however i have thought more and i just realised yesterday that it is anakin after all. The reason for this is he brings ballance to the force when he kills Darth sideous in ROTJ. Am i right in this assesment? please someone reply.

Yeah, thats exactly what I thought. It is kinda implied when you see the ghosts of Obwon, yoda, and anakin at the end of RTOJ
Don't let your sig line incite a gay thread ;>)

Actually, I believe Anakin brings balance to the Force in a way the Jedi Council didn't anticipate. There were a lot of Light Jedi running around, but no mention of Dark Jedi. Anakin brings balance to the Force by wipng out the Light Jedi.

Well, the Jedi were a bunch of emotional prudes. They were devoid of attachment to others, counselling Anakin against such attachments.

Anakin's fall had a lot to do with his attachments, but also that the Jedi who he trusted didn't teach him to properly manage his feelings for others (mother, Padme).

In Episode VI we see that Luke's attachment to his father and Vader's attachment to his son was what redeemed Anakin and enabled him to give his life for his son.

You'll find out in Episode III (or if you already have the audio novel like I do) that Qui Gon Jinn's view was right. The Jedi were always focused on the future. In TPM Qui Gon told Obi Wan to never dwell on the future at the expense of the present or the living force.

Yoda learns this from Qui Gon in Episode III, and reflects the change we seen Yoda between Episode I & II and Episode V (Empire Strikes Back).

Episode III is far better than I ever imagined. Anakin's fall was well done. As was showing how the Jedi fell into Sidious' trap. The Jedi certainly don't seem so noble after what happens.

If Lucas' script translates well onto film, this will be the best of the Star Wars movies. It certainly does redeem what many thought were two subpar movies in Episode I & II.

What is also really tragic is Episode III really shows how close of friends Anakin and Obi Wan are. It makes their fight really sad.

Darth Vader isn't the monster villian he appeared to be seeing only the original trilogy. He's really a tragic figure, completely deceived by Sidious into thinking he was doing what was best.

Pretty good analysis mkofron. I agree with your opinions on it.
I can't wait until ROTS comes out.

What about a new spinoff show for starwars. Jarjar binks meets the sopranos. Now that would be funny. They use him as a hit man.

Wow you saw it already?!

Sounds really cool, from the way you described it. The biggest problems I had with the new star wars movies were that while they were good upon the first viewing in theatre, they kind of lost their luster in subsequent viewings afterwards. They just didnt age well like the originals.

I hope the last one redeems the series, but I doubt it will make the first two prequels any better.

EDIT: Woah, that was the script! Heheh.
