Now look at the area of the boot print in question. Have portions of the print been obscured by dust thrown up by this movement in the area? Or is there another explanation?
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find and not to yeild. - Tennyson

The answer for those people in doubt of the disparity in boot size is to attempt to replicate their explanations as to what is being viewed. I will predict with confidence that the size differential in close proximity as seen in the image cannot be duplicated or even approximated using the same size boot.

Okay, let's use my 11 points of similarity from the bottom of the boot. The last one ends approximately 2/3rds of the way up the boot. So let's place marks on the boot at the first identifiable point (the heel) and the last identifiable point (about 2/3rds of the way up the boot).

Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find and not to yeild. - Tennyson

And then place the boot on a photo of the area, aligning the first point of alignment and the last point of alignment with the print.
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find and not to yeild. - Tennyson

And then crop and enlarge the area in question.
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find and not to yeild. - Tennyson

Would this be a good time to point out the depression in the surface foward (e.g., to the right of) where the bootprint "ends?"

Seems to me 1/4 of the boot was "in the air" (for lack of a better term).

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

I was just getting to that, Yevaud.
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find and not to yeild. - Tennyson

Sorry. It's been pretty obvious and ahh well...

*Carry On*

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

And then zoom in on the toe area. Note the slope (as Yevaud pointed out). The toe did not make contact with the surface.
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find and not to yeild. - Tennyson

No problem, I just had a string of illustrations to post. That was the last one.

Another one of my sub-par "analytical performances."
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find and not to yeild. - Tennyson

And finer / faster / less expensive than the "investigation" previously muttered about too (I don't know why, but when it was mentioned, I saw a horde of people, labs, a hugely inflated budget, and 5 years to complete).

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

Good point. I thought about that last night after I'd posted the last photo.

BTW: Nice job dropping out the background on the boot. I didn't take the time.
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find and not to yeild. - Tennyson
