I have managed to get a small cheap telescope given to me. It is a Tasco 50mm refractor. The question I have is where can I find good maps of the moon as this will probably be the only object I can see real well with this thing? Any help would be great and if there are other things I might be able to see please let me know.

William ( deapfreeze ) Hooper

http://deapfreeze-amateur-astronomy.tk/

Can't hurt to just go ahead and look. May as well get some use out of it.

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life. I will definately be using it. I only had a pair of 7x35 binos before this so it will get used for sure.

William ( deapfreeze ) Hooper

http://deapfreeze-amateur-astronomy.tk/

Even a 50mm Tasco will show you lots of things. Like Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Venus (as good as anyone else is going to see it) some of the globular clusters (M13 and the like), Great Orion Neb. You could star hop around the sky just checking out the Messier objects and see a good chunk of them.

www.siriuslookers.org

Locating the features of the moon is one of the great adventures in astronomy.

I think the moon is amazing. It will be even more amazing when I know and am able to point out the different craters to my kids.

William ( deapfreeze ) Hooper

http://deapfreeze-amateur-astronomy.tk/
