It is reasonable to believe that these ancient small satellite galaxies have small black holes at their cores. That they are so old, perhaps as old as the oldest galaxies regardless of size, might suggest that primordial black holes of highly variable size formed very early in the evolution of the universe, leading to galaxies of highly variable sizes. Their formation likely predates the formation of stars. We are seeing more of this kind of evidence* for the very early appearance of galaxies that do not correspond to standard models of galactic core black hole formation. It keeps getting more interesting.
