Now there is one way out of this for you. You can save yourself and all of your people by helping me with a problem I have.
See, a recent gamma ray burst has left all of the men of my race sterile. We can no longer reproduce. That is unless you help me. I need you to...

...swallow one of those ultra strong plasma grenades! Nah, just kidding. You will have to return to that dreamworld of yours, your Johnson world ... Peters and Johnsons, oh this is so poetic, with our male infertility problem and all. Anyway once there...

The only laws of matter are those which our minds must fabricate, and the only laws of mind are fabricated for it by matter.
--- James Clerk Maxwell

to..to...ahhhhhhh!!!....While the Dark Lady Ooontinaei spoke...and spoke...and spoke...a bunch of angry little tiny machines jumped on her from a tree. … murmured something in a language he'd never spoken before and produced a few happy noises while getting ready to jump...when … a wooden arrow flew over his shoulder and killed Ooontinaei on the spot (who was really the Dark Lord of the Netherworld, remember?) Evil spell quickly wore off as a bunch of tanned semi naked amazons accompanied by a squadron of Trolls jumped out of nowhere dragged him in their nets with horrible screams.

Meanwhile, back on the ship...

... the computer noted the exact moment that Pearsons vital signs went blank. A standard death notice form would be sent to his family. That task finished, the computer returned to it's secret mission. Since the mysterious transmission reached it's receiver array the computer had been controlling the actions of the terra forming robots. At the same time it was running tracking algorithms to determine the source of the instructions. THey came from a part of space that was.....

. . . at that precise moment resounding with warcries, and the dark blade's eldritch song. Wielding that dismal glaive, and staking souls afresh, the tall figure with the bloodless face grimaced with each mortal stroke.
Cutting armour like cloth, driving the foeman to distraction, luring them onto its point with its enraging song, the sword lead the battle for its own damned . . .

...wielder was just a slave to it. For it was not a simple sword, but THE sword, forged in the fusion of suns from when the galaxy was young by the great evil that has since been sealed away for ages. It was searching for something, and the red planet on the other side of the milky way was its target, using a passing ship as a proxy for its investigation.

Ships crew was dead 12.9323 seconds after data from Johnson-Petersons affair was analized, as the ship became aware of ...

...Yawning and blinking in the bright light stood one of the most perfect human specimens ever born. He was built for speed and endurance with an agility that defied description. The microchips embedded in his brain made him seem cold and aloof to other humans but his mental abilities made him the most valued member of the crew. He stretched and looked around the room instantly sensing that something was not right. He quickly analyzed the iinformation and...

.."Sebastian, you should come to the control deck now. I need your help" the voice of the ship said passively. Sebastians mind did not miss that the ship had used the pronoun "I" indicating it was self ware. With an innate understanding of the chips and cicuits embedded in his own brain he began to immediately formulate a plan, adapting to the changes necessitated by the processing of information occuring at the same time on a different chip in his brain. The multitasking of the computer of the early 21 st century were childs play compared to his capabilities. He was refered to as "hyper-aware", able to sense and respond to any number of input simultaneously.
He soon reached the door to the control room and noticed all of the security systems were deactivated. Perhaps the ship had become self aware without the accompanying self-preservation insticts. A few simple tests would reveal that information. He strode into the control room but was baffled by what he found. THe place was.....

...very different from what he remembered...yes the ship had been busy indeed: webs of cables entangled a third of the ship living quarters, standard imperial nuclear ionic drive has been replaced by something...something unseen in this sector since the bloody magellanian invasion 1.5 billion years ago - a dimension drive, capable of reaching 3.2 mini jumps (each 100 parsecs long) per second, and some eliptical construction which he could see through the transparent part of the hull, which suspiciously looked like a ...

...a Kroni sarcophagus. Sebastian quickly computed the possibility and determined that he should not be seeing what he thought he was seeing. The Kroni has been gone for millenia. As a species they were perhaps the most violent and dangerous in the known universe. Ruthless and inescapable they spread out form their planets by wiping out the inhabitants of new planets and establishing settlements there. When their destructive presence reached the galaxies of the Alliance the threat was more than could be tolerated. The decision was made and the war began. Afterwards each Kroni settlement was hunted down and completely eradicated. The purge took 400 years. None survived.
Yet, her before him, Sebastian saw the proof of the failure. How and when this artifact arrived on the ship and what it had to do with the current situation eluded his nimble brain. He could only assume it was not a good thing. The being inside the sarcophagus would be a very formiddable foe. He made the decision to...
