Just spoke to shuttle_guy, he wasn't able to get online over the weekend. He says that the demate is in progress, and that mating with the 'new' stack is scheduled for next Tuesday (June 7th).

Bake the layer of NajaB for 30 mins at 250 degrees before evenly spreading SG on top with the back of a spoon. Sprinkle an assortment of Rocketwatcher and Matt Black until desired appearance.

Slice and serve as appropiate.

The NASAWatch item appears to me to say they've read the background of the AERCam and that claims it's a RTF Item - rather than someone at JSC saying "Let's have this on RTF now"?

Unless, SG, you're saying you know this item is suddenly on the RTF requirements?

I've mailed that Steven on the contact info for the AERcam to see if he'll say anything.

Spacefire It is not a crashshuttle. also its reliability is comparable to Soyuz in terms of fatal accidents, and is far more complex and also is a first generation system. For something that had never been done before it is quite good

Well Dr Steven seemed surprised about the aforementioned report about his AERCam getting that sort of attention about being a requirement about RTF - but that means nothing. He's sent me to another person at JSC to talk to about it.

Nice fella, has to be said.

Cool, SG.

Silly question, I know. But when Discovery is rolled out again, will she come out of the right hand door of the VAB (thinking it was the left door last time) and then Atlantis will eventually come out of the left when her ET-119 and SRBs are ready for her to be stacked with?

Sorry for the blandness of this, just everything interests me

Just read the article on SDC about progress on the stack swap. Great news to hear that work is a day ahead of schedule with this. It's about time a few events started to break Shuttle's way. Hopefully this will translate to a day earlier out the VAB door for Discovery.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

There should be another tanking test cause there's been a problem with this tank on both the others. best to have this tank with a clean tanking test.

Dionne -

It's not 'that' ET (External Tank).

Tanking Test 1 - ET-120
Tanking Test 2 - ET-120
Tanking Test 3 (if required) - ET-121

So what MSFC are asking is for a Tanking Test 1 on ET-121 (and Shuttle) - so it's really not like a 'third' tanking test.

It sounds a little like MSFC are "assuming" there's issues to be sorted with ET-121, because of what occurances went on with the previous two tanking tests on ET-120.....but haven't yet given the rational on what those 'assumptions/concerns" are in order to justify a third tanking test on STS-114 in the pre-launch flow.

SG - correct me if I've got any of that wrong.

Awesome pic. Shows how big the VAB is. Makes one wonder just how big those Saturn 5s must have been - would have loved to have seen a Saturn 5 close up and personal.

My Dad's a huge fan of the Saturn 5 and has a six foot wooden model in his loft.
