Even the WB-57 crews get fancy pressure suits!

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

I think NASA might have swiped those camera turrets off the Millennium Falcon!

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

Thought it was that, but nasa tv never actually gets around to explaining anything.
Are there any streams coming from mission control? It would be nice to see people building up to the launch rather than pre recorded videos.

What your bitrate on that? SDC TV has dropped to 77kb/s but isn't jerking around or buffering (not bad for Australia).

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Wanna see this site looking like the old SDC uplink?

Go here to see how: SDC Eye saver

The weather looks fantastic. They will never get better conditions for camera footage on ascent.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

>How much of the pad/launchtower is damaged/destroyed during a launch?
Very little. The tail service masts contain blast doors that protect the T-0 umbilicals from the blast, and the sound-suppression water spray has the added effect of cooling the MLP.

Damn this is exciting. I joined uplink.sdc after Columbia. (found out about it after that ominous thread buidling up to re-entry).
So great to finally see this - an orbiter on the pad minutes from liftoff.

God Speed Discovery.

Go Baby Go...
