Is an ISS orbit boost scheduled before the Shuttle docking ?

Any specific observation of the possible impact of such boost on the rotary joints ?

scribblenotes:

Launch winow opens ~ 4:26 PM Thursday, target time is 4:31 PM.
That's 1631 EST, 2131 UT, 1331 PST.

That is one minute before sunset at my home in NJ; over 1 hour before sunset at the cape. So, it would be a daytime launch, but I will try and spot it about 8 minutes later, after sunset from here.

Launch window is through the 13th of December, must be undocked by the 23rd because of power considerations.

ET delivered today for Endeavour in February.

If this window is missed, they would launch after Jan 2 through most of the month.

Possible EVA 4 to seriously inspect SARJ, if power and time permit.
If not inspection could occur during ISS stage.

If EVA takes place, they will remove 1 of the 12 "trundle bearings" for terra firma inspection, no problem without it.

Atlantis retirement is up for review in January.

2008 missions?

Wayne said 5 or 6, if all went well.

The other Wayne

But the Krell forgot one thing John. Also, from question time for reporters.

New fine leak check being done now.

If joint does leak there is a seal kit which is permanent and bolted in place from inside the station that can seal a leak if the regular seals at the common berthing mechanism don't seat correctly.

Sorry, my bad. Yes, a fine leak test is currently underway.

They suspect it's 50/50 there is no problem, as the signal was a minor (more than we'd like to live with) level, and could be bad data.

This should be a definitive test.

They probed around with a device intended to detect the sucking sound of a leak, but found none.

But the Krell forgot one thing John. As SSPTS draws power from the station, will the SARJ issue prevent Nasa using SSPTS to its full potential?

I know Atlantis isnt kitted out with SSPTS but the other 2 shuttles are

"will the SARJ issue prevent Nasa using SSPTS to its full potential?"

If not fixed by 1 J/A, it will. We do not have enough power to power the ISS fully let alone the Shuttle at that point.

OMG. 2 days to launch and this thread dropped to page 2.
What happened to the fuel tank. It needed filler foam?

They said "minor damage", which most likely just required a light sanding to smooth the aerodynamic surface.
That's based on what they had to do with the hail blated tank earlier this year. When they saiod minor, they meant minor

But the Krell forgot one thing John.
