It's been a busy few days for our sun, which has produced three of the outbursts that scientists call coronal mass ejections since Monday (Nov. 1).

This seems like it out to be especially powerful. If you've ever surfed, when a wave catches-up to another, that's the one you want to surf.

Wouldn't faster moving plasma catching the slower produce extra magnetic strength since charge motions moving through a field produce extra field strength?
