I'm wondering if the "Dead Zone" qualifies as Sci-Fi or just fantasy.

I didn't start watching this show until late in the second season. Luckily I was able to rent DVDs of the 1st 2 seasons and got caught up.

I like the way it has a deep long running theme but doesn't reference to it in every episode.
Bob DeWoody

Tricky question I would say that it is a bit open for debate. Sci-Fantasy perhaps after all the two are not mutually exclusive.

The video game series Final Fantasy often effecively blends Sci-Fi & Fantasy as the characters alternate between gunslinging and spell casting.

As far as it goes, the novel was--despite marketing--science fiction. Stephen King went out of his way to provide a plausible explanation for Johnny's precognition. I haven't watched all of the TV episodes, but if they haven't departed from the original concept...SF.
