Its just past midnight May 26th. No sign of a Tsunami that should have gotten here around midnight (Ooooh midnight, the witching hour) May 25th or 24 hours ago and I live on the Atlantic coast.

Whats up with that Eric?

I'll be fair and give it another day.

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life. I am in London and it's been pissing down here for the past few days. Should I worry? Is the persistent rain the forerunner of worse things to come??? According to Eric Julien's latest informant we are dealing with a 48 hour window for the comet to hit us, which has also been confirmed by Nasa. The US Congress is on a Evacuation excercise too....

I have lost the will to live, now that I have truly seen it all.....

Have you independantly confirmed the NASA verification from a source other than Eric Julien?

I'm on the Florida east coast, no sign of a tsunami, nice weather here.

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life. qso1....Nice weather can be a forerunner of a comet hit, too...It's no win situation and I am starting to feel pretty let down by it all. I vigourously followed the Eric Julien list of " A 100 things you will need after the Apocalypse" and even splashed out on a pair of wellies (gum boots) and stopped short of purchasing a new camping stove....No comet in sight!
Get the surfboards out, mate...you might be in for a Pointbreak today...one never knows.......

http://www.savelivesinmay.com/

How bout, "Make money in May".

Lets examine this site shall we:

Excerpt:
"I have received information psychically, which is corroborated by scientific data, according to which on May 25, 2006 a giant tsunami...

Me:
What scientific corroberation is he referring to. If someone here posted that, they would immediatly be asked to show some links. Where are the links?

Excerpt:
According to informed sources, contacts in the American intelligence services confirm the existence of a time window of 48 hours, centered on May 25th at midnight GMT, for the impact a comet fragment south of the Azores.

Me:
Same as the first, has anyone here seen corroboration of this on major networks such as CNN? Being that we are supposedly so close, why isn't this dominating the news if the goal is to save lives?

Excerpt:
This corroborates information of an evacuation exercise of the U.S. Congress to occur later in the day of May 25th, information which reached us this morning.

Me:
An excercise the day of impact? Your kidding right? Whats the point?

Excerpt from what can only be called a testimonial:
I would have dismissed Eric Julien’s message regarding danger from a comet fragment on May 25, 2006 as simply crackpot tidings were it not for some dreams and experiences which others and I have had, first two years ago and then again this year.

Me:
Mind you, his whole reason for believing Eric is based on dreams. I don't see much in the way of science here.

Oh my bad...I just saw links to something scientific we all know called "Sky and Telescope magazine". I go to the link but see no indication of a relationship between S&T magazine and Julein. Don't see much in the way of preps on S&Ts part either I mean "Comet Schwassmann- Wachmann Heads Into the Sunrise" as a title, t

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life. He also has a "donation" Paypal link on his site. Hmmm.... He had his own forum, which is now gone and one of his follwers was posting a request for everyone to send a $1 to his paypal account for the "survivors".

He now adds this to his site:
UPDATE MAY 25, 2006:
"According to informed sources, contacts in the American intelligence services confirm the existence of a time window of 48 hours, centered on May 25th at midnight GMT, for the impact a comet fragment south of the Azores.

This corroborates information of an evacuation exercise of the U.S. Congress to occur later in the day of May 25th, information which reached us this morning.

As a measure of precaution, I suggest the authorities do the utmost to protect the populations of the Atlantic coastlines. -- Eric Julien "

This is Juliens way of covering up why it didn't happen. In 48 hours he will give another excuse, than another, than another. His ET's buddies told him the date, why would they lie? gezzz. I really hope this guy gets locked away.

here, here qso1, nicely put. I feel sorry for all the people who went out and spend possibly all the $$ they had on supplies they will not need, at least at this time.

This "nut" Julien has a very interesting history. Maybe during all his alien abductions those ET's did something to his brain.

"Less well known, however, is the track record of Eric Julien who, according to the Morocco Times, claimed in May 2004 to have been abducted by aliens who wanted to teach him to drive UFOs."

http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/F4396687-6C85-4C8C-B47A-3B8F785FE95C.htm

I havn't followed a single thing on the list.

IMO, weather on Earth would not indicate a thing concerning an impact by a celestial body until that body begins to interact with the atmosphere in the area it enters. By that time, the effect will be so rapid, that is, measured in mere minutes. The weather effects after impact are what would be potentially devastating.

If you recall accounts of the Tunguska event. Nobody mentions the weather getting screwy prior to the impact.

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life. His credentials, if true, make him an expert eyewitness in UFO proponent circles. To me, he is proof as to why I don't put much stock in eyewit testimony just because it came from an expert.

As for being nutty, I'd say he's sane, its his followers that have me wondering.

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life. Checked out that website link you posted. If one looks at the trajectories he himself posted, you can see what I was saying about parallel travel. On the graphic at the bottom, the comet clearly makes a close pass as we know. That pass is parallel to the Earth in travel. The comet fragments would have to be on a direct intercept where it intersects the Earth in order to strike it.

Furthermore, any fragments that come off will simply trail the main piece as can easily be seen in the images. There would be nothing that would change their direction of travel or could overcome the momentum necessary to in effect, make a right angle turn from the close pass point and decide to head our way.

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life. http://exodus2006.com/cometfrags/Eric-Julien-25-MAY.htm
Excerpt:
Imagine a heavenly object stable for centuries, even for millenia, which mysteriously explodes apart by chance a few months after the launching of the American Star Wars program, intended for an enemy originating from space. This heavenly object [the comet] transforms itself then into a POTENTIAL PLANETARY WEAPON.

Me:
More silliness.

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life. Good link, I just wonder if those who posted in his defense have seen these links. One poster had these words to say:

Calling people names in such a forum shows a lack of credibility for those who say they are interested in Science and Space.

Me:
Now me personally, I never called Eric Julien a name of any kind...well, "Crazy like a fox" but that appears true. I simply replied that I do not believe his prediction because its not based on any known astronomical data. Data which an amateur astronomer can tell you, is contradictory to this May 25th prediction.

Some who simply believe tend to view people like Eric Julien as underdogs fighting the skeptics who only ridicule and call names so they come to his defense. Some skeptics engage in namecalling no doubt. But in the end, who in this particular case is going to be proven right. A guy selling books who claims a dream told him comet Swhachmann Wachmann fragments would hit the Earth May 25, 2006? Or NASA, the worlds amateur and professional astronomy community and average folk like me who could tell just by looking at an image sequence that we were in no danger?

To be fair once again, will see in a few days.

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life. To be honest: I do not care whether I would be regarded as a credible critic by people who follow hoaxes like that. Unfortunatly I am just an averagely gifted person, seeking merely the truth behind things that are put before me..and most certainly avoiding prejudgmental statements.
However, I am inclinded to feel slightly smug and cynical...not only because the comet never hit us (after all: one never knows) but rather of the fact that Mr Julien seems to avoid any kind of confrontational discussion. His motto is: believe me or not...but don't question me. As questioning him would require him to find explainations to his plagurised stories. Hence: he shut his forum down...seemingly for good....and will probably re-surface under a new alias...with yet another story....

Unfortunatly I am just an averagely gifted person...

Me:
Very similar to me in that respect except I'm average without the gifts LOL. I too am not overly concerned about being a credible critic to hard core believers. I accepted long ago that I'm not gonnna change their beliefs and honestly, I don't even want to. In a forum like this however, I'd like to think I'm able to provide a rational, hopefully truthful explanation to counter the more obvious hogwash that occassionaly makes its way here if for no other reason, let people decide for themselves after they see both sides of the debate.

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life. I was in the forum for several weeks reading and some were posting such crazy stuff. For an example, a "Julien worshipper" you read a news story, form an opinion and/or assumption, take their opinion and/or assumption and form their own story, give it and impression title and post it to make it look like a news story and cause panic amoung people. This reallyh made me mad. I have no problem with people who have a different opinion and want to share it, but do not agree with lying to make their opinion look credible. This is what he was doing. Everytime a different "opinion" was shared there that went aganist this false prophet, their post was either deleted or they were banned. I still say he is a very demented man.

Silly me LOL, or was it July 25, 2006. One thing is certain, he'll no doubt come up with a reason (IE excuse) for why this prediction failed.

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life.
