"our universe underwent a period of incredibly rapid expansion known as inflation".
I have routinely contemplated that opening a Sim program on a computer would kinda be like the inflation of the universe. ha ha ha but I do consider it a possibility.

So what if it's a simulation? A simulation changes and answers nothing. A simulation needs to exist in a real universe. Is that universe infinite or finite? How can it be either? Does it have a beginning or is it timeless? How can it be either? All of the same questions and paradoxes persist. A simulation would be but a small part of a larger existence that we still can't explain. Calling it a simulation is just giving it a new label. It's meaningless.
