Are you implying that a one dimensional space is something that is nonexistent?

Giving it a dimension of 1 (the left, right dimension) is giving it some sort of existence. This is one of the fundamental ideas behind string theory. A one dimensional being, in a one dimensional universe, is unaware of other dimensions that could very well exist. For example, a second and third dimension (forwards, backwards and up, down).

It's hard to say whether or not it would unmake the universe if a person purposely left the timeline to either jump to the future or past.

You must first understand all possible theories as to how time travel may take place. Consider the parallel universe theory.

Techies: We do it in the dark.

"Put your hand on a stove for a minute and it seems like an hour.
