Serenity (from Firefly).

Because every other spaceship that has a starring role in a science fiction movie is a combat ship. They may all look different, but they are functionally very much alike.

This is the only truly original spaceship that plays a major role in any science fiction show. Heck, it's only weaponry consists of Jayne wrapping Vera in a space shoot and firing it through an open airlock door.

I always liked the bubble saucer cars on the Jetson's.

Of course, if I had one today, it would have to have an enormous (and loud) subwoofer.

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!

IIRC, Alfs' ship and Nibblers' ship were of a similar design.

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!

If you can fly through space, what do you need wings for?

Give me a tardis and day! No high gees. No weightlessness. No long periods drifting through space. Small on the outside (easy to park), but as large as you want on the inside (library, lounge, gym, swimming pool, archery range, cross-country jogging track ......).

Video rental shop.Japanese girls university track and field team clubrooms. Fishing takle room. meat locker. Saw bench.

Yep, if you had the tardi, you wouldn't NEED to land, except when your saw blades needed replacing, or you ran out of runners.

off the top of my head Romulan Bird of Prey, but there are so many worth considering. Robotech Zentraedi cruisers were cool too, like that organic look.

LINK: So who's got the biggest spaceship?

The only laws of matter are those which our minds must fabricate, and the only laws of mind are fabricated for it by matter.
--- James Clerk Maxwell

I loved the reptilian design of the Narn Ships. A perfect example of how the background/physiology of a species can determine the look of their ships- quite imaginative

I don't know if it was ever filmed, but the Terra Terror from Wonderful Flight to the Mushroom Planet would be a 'head turner'.

IIRC, the official name of the Mushroom Planet was Basidium X.

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!

IIRC, that was the home made backyard space ship built from wood(!) spars from an old sailboat and the hull was tin cans flattened and nailed to the wood. Seems like the scientist who discovered the Mushroom Planet painted it with something to make it air tight.

Was a chicken taken on the flight?

I haven't read that book for 40 + years and I may have some of the details off.

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!

Any spacecraft without rocket nozzels - I mean whats the point? Capable of massive acceleration, faster than light warp manouvorability, planatary landing all that mass. Gravity drives, null fields, Inertia shielding, hyper drives - why bother with reaction mass drives? Conservation of momentum anyone?

Gotta give it up for the Explorers... I tried like hell to make my own spaceship out of some old TV's and trash cans, but I didn't have the magical cirucit to make it all work...
