Generations established that once you leave the Nexus, you can't leave again until you reenter the Nexus. That was why Guinan could not help Picard. She had already left.

Will Pittenger
Add this user box to your Wikipedia User Page to show your support for the SDC forums:
{{User:Will Pittenger/User Boxes/Space.com Account}}

Talking about klutzs in the entertainment world that you wouldn't guess at.

Apparently Lucy Lawess is naturally clumsy. She has done dance and martial arts and yet, still knocks things over, trips over her own feet.

A Famous (in new zealand) comedian called Mike Smith does a very good anecdote about her tripping over and busting her bust.

...her tripping over and busting her bust.

Yeah well, I never liked Xena. Would that be "Xenaphobia?"

(Now Gabrielle, on the other hand... Since in an excellent Star Trek TNG episode it was entered into canon that the galaxies humanoid species were seeded by an ancient race using their own DNA, it seems logical that Klingons, Vulcans, Romulans and the others would respond similarly to the same stimuli; adjusting skin color by way of melanin levels.

That was one of my favorite TNG episodes.

But.... Ever seen an Andorian that wasn't blue?

I understand about melanin and all. My point was really that while it works that way on Earth, there are various reasons why it might not be so on other planets.

It's never directly stated (IIRC) but Tau Ceti, I believe is host to the Vulcan home world. Or was it Epsilon Eridani?

What does a person's skin look like evolving under the light of a red dwarf? Would such a planet have the climatological diversity of Earth?

"2012.. Year of the Dragon!! 40 Eridani A; a red dwarf with a habitable zone 0.6 AU out.

I just looked it up on Memory Alpha and 40 Eridani is the star that Vulcan orbits. 40 Eridani is an interesting system because according to SolStation 40 Eridani is a triple star system with the main star being a K1 spectral type with ~36% of Sol's luminosity. The other two are a white dwarf and a dim red dwarf that orbit around one another while 40 Eridani A and the 40 Eridani B/C combination orbit around each other.

Here's an animation of how the three stars orbit one another

Perhaps if Vulcan were on the inside of the habitable zone of star A it would lead to the higher surface temperatures seen in the show.

So, again we are defeated. But.... Ever seen an Andorian that wasn't blue?

Actually yes, there was an episode of Enterprise that included "albino" andorians, lived under the icesheet or some such place. They were highly telepathic and IIRC, blind.
