Did anyone else seen Voyage to the Planets and Beyond program on Discovery channel? What did you think?

If you didn't see it, it was a fictional voyage to the solar system planets based on science of NASA. They visited Venus, Mars, Jupiter moons, Saturn moon, and a comet. It took about 2 years trip. It featured a sling shot around the sun to get to jupiter from venus, a failed landing mission, death by radiation, a comet becoming "live", an injured space craft and repairs, Surgery, landers, etc. Pretty fun to watch.

"SCE to AUX" - John Aaron, curiosity pays off

Stuff I noticed:

nuclear propulsion with one huge container for the propellant for years. It also dubbed as a shield.

Acctually the way they used the shield was nice, just rotating the ship in the right direction. It would probably work

Magnetic field shield. Protecting them from the Sun's radiation. nice.

Several landers. One lander per landing. Nice concept. You probably need a different design per planet, for the most part. Also the bay where the landers were reflected the Shuttle's bay.

Death in space - a real tradegy waiting to happen - one day it will.

sleeping quarters with artificial gravity - nice, I hopes it works.

critisisms
Why not use a solar sail to propell the ship to Jupiter?

Why a manned mission to Venus? Wouldn't it be too dangerous??

Comet lander. why use an enclosed lander? why not just an eva with a boosted jetpac?

No Arm for the ship?

"SCE to AUX" - John Aaron, curiosity pays off
