Weakly Interacting Massive Particles are the bomb just admit it. Don’t you think so? Is there any recent news on wimps? Has they been proven to exist?<br /><br />If I understand correctly wimps pass through matter, only once in a great while interacting with it. I seem to remember scientists looking at samples of mica in electron microscopes looking for traces of them. What if a person got hit by a wimp that just happened to interact with them? What would happen?<br />

To my knowledge, they haven't been found, though the search is still on. <br /><br />Honestly, if a WIMP interacted with one of the atoms in your body, probably nothing would happen. Neutrinos probably interact with our atoms every once in a while, and nothing happens; it's probably the same deal with WIMPs.

I was under the impression that the "massive" in WIMP meant "more massive than any currently known particle." <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> </div>

not really. they think they may have some traces of it.<br /><br />Personally I side with Higgs...I don't like the idea.
