For example, magnetic fields on our sun involve ions in motion.

Tidal interactions cause motion of fluids, and I suspect gases also.

Hence my qjuestion.

As an extreme example, if a Jupiter-like planet is orbiting a star in an elliptical orbit taking it very close to the star - what degree of effect would this extreme scenario have on said star's magnetic fields?
