In 1514 A.D Nicolaus Copernicus a polish astronomer postulated the theory, states that the Earth spins on its axis and revolves around the Sun. Since then it is a scientifically proved and well-known fact. later scientists were able to calculate that the Earth spins at a speed of about 1,000 miles per hour and orbits around the Sun at a speed of 67,000 miles per hour.

But have you ever wondered If Earth is revolving with such an enormous speed why can’t we feel that speed?

Is the Earth's rotation rate slowing down with the passage of time?

It's (Earth) is moving at a constant speed. By the way, watch Neil deGrasse Tyson. He is very fun to watch.

Simple answer we are too miniscule to ever feel it. And you talk about the speed of the rotation, did you know how huge things are in space the planets, stars, solar system, clusters, galaxies all move at speeds which are tremendous in our aspect, but they are literally normal according to their size..

Just travel in your car at 150 mph (preferably not in a 30 zone) and flicker your lighter (from the time when people smoked). If your convertible roof is on the light will be rock steady, but try that with the roof off! Different story.
Within the sealed environment, you are in an isolated system. If you want to bring in Relativity, take the top off. Separate yourself from the sealed environment. Then you (or your flame) will find that you are actually not stationary.

its definitely only a guess. but because everything is running on perpetual motion/

Now Suppose you woke up on the train and u have no idea how you got in and all the doors and windows are sealed so u cant see the outside view and for more fun also consider that the train is of high gen tech version where train does not shake will travelling to its maximum speed (which means u wont feel that the train is moving) .
In this above scenario when u woke u will think that the train is at rest position this is because of the blockage of outside view and also cant feel the moving train.
So what i wanna say is the Train is our Earth and the outside view is our sky when we look up into the sky we can say that its a day or a night due to visual observation, thus u cant feel the rotation and revolving of the earth.. :)

Thats just about the same answer my Science teacher used when i asked, Its like going 60 mph in a car, you dont feel the wind blasting you because your in a concealed enviorment

Galileo was perhaps the first to get the relativity ball rolling. He had heard, IIRC, that an object dropped from the crow's nest atop the main mast on a sailing vessel fell straight down and people wondered why it didn't move opposite of their sailing direction. He was able to show that it could be just as valid to say that it was the water and land that was moving and not the ship, so of course, the object would fall straight down. The object had the speed of the ship so, given no wind resistance, it would maintain that forward speed all the way down.

In answer to the original question "Why don't we feel the Earth's rotation?" as has already been said a human being is travelling along at the same speed as the Earth's rotation, so doesn't feel anything. However, that's not to say that the Earth's rotation doesn't cause effects that we can see on a larger scale, e.g the Coriolis effect in the atmosphere. As the Earth itself rotates from West to East that means that in the Northern hemisphere the wind flowing from a high pressure zone outwards to the North will have a rotational velocity that is greater than that of the Earth's surface it is passing over, resulting in it moving Eastwards, whilst the wind flowing outwards to the South will have a rotational velocity that is less than that of the Earth's surface it is passing over, resulting in it moving Westwards. The net effect being that the High Pressure zone generates a clockwise wind circulation. Using the same reasoning the direction of High Pressure wind circulation in the Southern hemisphere is of course reversed.

Yes, and those air mass movements cause the Earth’s rotation rate to be altered. Using quasars for reference, these changes are tracked daily in milliseconds. But we are incapable of feeling these changes.
