the unicorn cover is apt for fantasy, but the teaser is all scifi. are you mixing the genres in your story?

The only laws of matter are those which our minds must fabricate, and the only laws of mind are fabricated for it by matter.
--- James Clerk Maxwell

the unicorn cover is apt for fantasy, but the teaser is all scifi. are you mixing the genres in your story?

Actually, I'm not sure about that front cover yet.
But yes, in chapter 18 the unicorns still exist and are super intelligent beings.
The Nemesaurus also exist on the Nemesis. It's about 90 percent science fiction and 10 percent fantasy.

I am open to suggestions on the front cover.
The unicorns will cost me 5 percent of the profit, that is If I decide to use it.

Columbia and Challenger

Starships of Heroes

Thanks rogers_buck.
I hope you are doing well.

The book itself will be uniquely different in that, it is worded so that a ten year old or a hundred year old can read and comprehend it.
It will be a non laminated paperback that is 9 x 11 inches and the font will be size 14 bold for older eyes.

Also the internet version will be available in any size font.

_________________________________________
umm, then dont?
it shouldn't be hard to make a much cooler one
________________________________________

I agree but time is limited.

Are you saying that because it will cost me 5 percent, or you just don't think it's appropriate for a science fiction novel?

Columbia and Challenger

Starships of Heroes

I'm not much on reading but I'll have to read up on this one. Looks like a good read and I always find it interesting to see what SDC posters come up with in addition to the stuff that famous writers have done.

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life. Those who make it happen, those who watch it happen...and those who do not know what happened.

Thank You so much.

Below is the basic beginning of the novel entitled, The Ancient Nemesis.

The Ancient Nemesis

A Science Fiction Novel by Eric Wilkins
The once fifth planet now home-world to mysterious light gravity GREY Aliens.

The future entails fantastic adventures of discovery for the crew of four astronauts aboard the destined for doom, I.S.D.C. Now I do too.

For the first time in many years, humans from Earth set out from Mars base, to explore the unknowns of the outer solar system.
After the Mars base had been completed, funds were depleted and it took more time than originally estimated, for the mining operations to

Columbia and Challenger

Starships of Heroes

Twentieth century knowledge and facts of theses mysterious worlds predicted that Pluto and Charon were merely small cold Kuiper belt objects that always presented the same face toward each other. Knowledge was soon to be assimilated to the contrary of what anyone imagined.
Inward burned a bright yellow star that sustained all known life in this solar system. One astronomical unit away, was planet Earth, the most beautiful planet known at the time. That is until this adventure to the Pluto Charon system began.

The year now, twenty-one eighty-seven, and humankind had explored much of the inner planet systems, but never before had any humans from Earth traveled this far out, toward the edge of our solar system.

The story begins.

Chapter one

The Arrival
Nova and crew approached the Pluto Charon system, at a speed of thirty kilometers per second. Nova’s engines fired sporadic bursts, gradually slowing for rendezvous with this mysterious double world system and its five known moons.
Even now at two days distance, these worlds seemed so small in the forward viewpoint, with the large moon Charon eclipsing Pluto approximately every five hours. These small worlds orbited each other like no other worlds known.

None of the crew knew what mysteries lay ahead, or what they might discover. Visual and radar were uncertain on exactly what these two heavenly bodies were made of, and very little was known about their surface features and composition of atmospheres.

These were certainly four brave souls that were prepared and qualified for exploration.

CONVERSATION ON THE COMMAND DECK.
"Telemetry confirmed," Johnny read the data out loud that was obtained from the forward long range scanner satellite probe. "This is unreal." He exclaimed, his eyes opening wide as he studied the printout from the ship’s main computer. The crew listened with amazement as he began to read this fascinating data.

Columbia and Challenger

Starships of Heroes

This sounds really cool! Wish I had time and $ for reading science fiction again. I haven't done that for years. Now that I'm taking calculus for the stated goal of tracking down the real Nemesis I have little time for the pleasant hours immersed in fantasy.

Good luck with your novel. This sounds like a lot of the old "hard" science fiction that I found to be the most enjoyable, like Larry Niven or Issac Asimov.

Wow! , to be compared with those guys, is indeed an honor.
Thanks.

Okay this is only a cheep scanner copy of Joanna's painting so don't expect the quality to show up in these pictures.

This new cover art was painted and designed, by a 28 year old, wonderful mother of five.
Joanna Wright Alley. sparkleswitch@yahoo.com

This painting is what will be used to design the final cover for, The Ancient Nemesis.

Columbia and Challenger

Starships of Heroes

Next time I will have more money to pay a professional like yourself.

The artist is a struggling 28 year old mother of five who's intent on the cartoon like artwork was to interest children in science fiction.

You're totally right, cover art is what makes people interested enough to buy.

I know most here would expect to see more of a high tech cover.
It's the adventure inside that takes you there.

Perhaps, next time I will not be struggling so much financially.

I'm also hoping that the percentage that I pay Joanna, will provide them the means to purchase a much needed home of their own.

Columbia and Challenger

Starships of Heroes
