What a bunch of brain dead muppets.

The Rosetta encounter has been known about PRIOR to launch. Hardly a bleedin secret.

Mind you this 'scare' probably made their day.

Andrew Brown.

"I suddenly noticed an anomaly to the left of Io, just off the rim of that world. Hi Boris1961,

I could not believe it either. You just cannot make this up. .

I can accept mistakes, have made plenty myself, but this is not a mistake, just a
stupid blunder, that could have got a lot of people scared.

I am not an expert, but I have known about this encounter, for a long time now,
so those who monitor Near Earth Space, MUST have known.

ESA have the route & dates of Rosetta in considerable detail on their website. There was
no excuse for this.

Andrew Brown.

"I suddenly noticed an anomaly to the left of Io, just off the rim of that world. It's good that they detected and tracked it, anyway. If Rosetta can't 'sneak' unnoticed into our near Earth space, it won't be easy neither for a big chunk of rock.

I'd suggest reading this thread

It has most of the latest details.

But the Krell forgot one thing John. "It's good that they detected and tracked it, anyway. If Rosetta can't 'sneak' unnoticed into our near Earth space, it won't be easy neither for a big chunk of rock. "

I agree. They should have put a positive spin on this. So they forgot to add Roestta to their list of known asteroids. Big deal. I'm sure it and other spacecraft are in there now.
