After melting Europa how would we stop the atmosphere and subsequently the oceans from evaporating into space? There are plenty of small asteroids in near earth orbits we don’t have to go through all this trouble just for one more.

I agree, Callisto is much more attractive for colonization.<br /><br />Better radiation environment, plenty of ice for oxygen and rocket fuel, further out of Jupiter's gravity well so less deltaV to get anywhere else... I have a hunch it'll be an attractive option to our descendents.

Long back I read an article by Patric Moore gave bright pictures of krill in europa.Since then I keep on dreaming of europa.Long cherished memory and tradition.
